Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick Kate Moss Collection

image

When talking about makeup, rain or shine, I learned that any look is not complete without a proper lipstick. I can spend days without wearing a complete makeup but I cannot go a day without lipstick. And, divulging a secret, lipstick for me is what shoes are for other women, my guilty pleasure, the product that will ultimately comfort me and make me feel good, the product that will be always on my secret shopping list.\

Rimmel London has had a successful collection with Kate Moss. And because I wanted to try a matte lipstick for so long, I chose it to be from Rimmel. I’ve been using the Rosetto shade for about a month now (a creamy luxurious intense dark pink), and truly is my “weapon of choice”, so to speak.

Pro’s:

  • this lipstick is incredibly pigmented
  • the color would complement a lot of skin tones, especially the light ones
  • has a decent lasting time
  • due to the highly intense color, I would recommend using it with a lip contour but for this specific shade I haven’t been in luck of finding a proper match.

Con’s:

  • it has a tendency to slightly dry on the lips
  • the thickness of the product makes it quite heavy on the lips

My rating: 7.5/10. I am so in love with the color that I’ve bought and even though I’m not that excited about the product itself, I would definitly want this color permanently in my lipstick collection.

Until the next time, wear red lipstick and glitter all the way:-)

Handbag heroes

image

If you are a regular on this blog, it’s no secret that I’m a person that suffers from a tight schedule everyday. If not, be warned that I might refer to this constantly. This is the main reason that my posts have been quite chaotic lately and what inspired me in the first place to share this to you, my dears. Handbag-wise, I’m a walking disaster as I always feel the need to pack everything as to prevent an unknown cataclysm that would allegedly keep me from fixing my makeup . If someone told you that reaching your 30’s will solve most of your college problems, forget that.

Let’s start with non-beauty basics first. I always (no matter of the bag size) carry with me a a hairbrush (as you can see, I have one from Sephora bought ages ago, in form of a compact case that also has mirror) , a dental floss (currently dragging around is one bought from DM, not much to say than it does what’s supposed to do) and cleaning tissues for glasses (whatever comes handy at the supermarket). Gum, hairbands or clips and different emergency pills come without saying.

The leader hero of the bag is the hand cream – currently using the Nivea HandCream Anti Age Q10, travel size. It’s a decent hand cream, smells quite nicely and makes me feel pampered.  For other kind of toiletries I always have a handful of samples (that you generally receive in magazines or in beauty stores and stay forgotten in the bathroom) with me of diverse products that come handy when I did not expect  (perfume, hand cream, liquid foundation, anti-mosquito lotion). Don’t get me wrong, I always carry a bottle of perfume with me, like this nice lily and gardenia spray perfume from Avon that currently is with me all the time, but I like variety and just to be sure I have enough, I’ve recently added the Lush solid perfume (review: here).

Makeup review I keep minimal, as either I’m wearing full makeup throughout the day or I’m not wearing anything. So the only real makeup product that I could die without is lipstick. And I cannot get enough of it as I carry around at least three. And as you can see, currently I’m over that limit: a nude lip gloss from Soap & Glory, chubby sticks from Astor and Bourjois, a classic pink lipstick from ELF and a nice orange Colortrend from Avon. In case my makeup starts running around from excessive oil, I have the Tea Trea Blotting Tissues from Body shop that help me solve that problem.

What do you know, there aren’t so many products as I thought, all the essentials are there, just in case ;).

What about you? What treasures does your handbag hold?

Until  next time, wear red lipstick and glitter all the way:-)

Weekend beauty haul

Hello ladies!

Whenever I have a moment of not knowing state of mind (what to wear, what’s my next favorite make-up, etc) I go shopping.

This month I’ve decided that my hair needed some pampering so MorrocanOil treatment for fine hair was the next step. This is a product that I’ve wanted so bad and it is over-hyped on the Internet so when I’ve found a site with a substantial sale I could not help myself.

Chubby lipsticks are invading drugstores and hypermarkets this spring and I’ve stumbled upon an offer from Astor (approx. 3€ ) for their Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter. I could not resist this orange shade: Feeling Feline.
And because this lipstick was not as nourishing as I’ve imagined, I got this drugstore lip balm from Himalaia Herbals. It smells divine and really helps your drying and chapping lips.

I’m not much of a makeup palettes fan, but this NYX Caribbean Collection has caught my eyes with 5 gorgeous neutral shades, their best selling eye shadows. It is very pretty and I will come with a review very soon. And what’s a makeup palette without some good brushes? I’m a big Pixiwoo fan so it had to be Real Techniques. I have the Core Collection and now I’ve bought the Starter Set for eyes.

I’m a daily primer consumer and because of my skin condition I like color correct primers. Preferably silicon based as my oily skin sometimes is very difficult to work with. I’ve decided to give NYX another chance with Studio Perfect Photo Loving Primer.

As you see, my budget was safe this month but I will have a lot of reviews to come back at.

Until the next time, wear red lipstick and glitter all the way:-)

March favorite products

This month I’ve been doing a lot of shopping. Maybe because it’s spring, one of my favorite seasons. Maybe because it’s sunny&warm outside, which gives me an excellent mood. Maybe because I’m in love, but I’ve been this love-sick for three years now.

Anyhow,  I’ve been feeling generous with reviews lately so you might go easy on me for being over enthusiastic. Also, you might notice that I’ve been stuck to a routine as of lately…

1. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. This bronzer was a present and because at that time I did not know how to work with bronzers, it was forgotten in a drawer. But its chocolate scent somehow came to surface and I started wearing it daily. With no exception.  And with the right buffing brush, it will blend perfectly into your skin.

2. Avon Color Trend – shade Flirt. This is a product acquired last autumn, and although, I’m not quite a big fan of Avon products, it was a visionary action from my side as it is a very nice orange lipstick, very wearable, even for stiff office jobs. Not matte but not very shimmery either, slightly scented, the texture is not that creamy, so be aware if you have dry lips. As for longevity, it was all right for four hours, after that it needed a refresh.

3. Makeup Forever HD Powder. I know, right? But I can’t get enough of it.

4. Apidermin face cream. Just because I have to put it away for a while, until cold comes again. It was good for my face during the cold days but I have also used it on my hands and elbows and it works perfectly. I don’t know if it’s such a good product in general or for everybody, but for me, in times of wind and snow it is perfect.

What are your favorite products this month?

Until then, wear red lipstick and glitter all the way:-)

Bourjois Color Boost

image

There’s been a lot of hype about the chubby sticks lipsticks in the last year. First it was Clinique, then Revlon but Bourjois.

Color Boost Lipstick in shade Fuschia Libre has recently entered in my makeup bag but I believe this is only the beginning of a long love affair.
image

Pros:
– This chubby stick is gorgeous: full, sexy, rich pigmented colour, non-sticky texture, SPF 15.
– quite cheap compared to the high-end pioneer-product from Clinique that every self-respecting beauty blogger has reviewed.

Cons:
– for a more defined look you need a separate lip pencil.
– formula is not a long-lasting one.

Overall, I would rate this product 7 /10 and can clearly state that I would buy this product again.

Until next time, wear red lipstick and glitter all the way:-)
